System Of A Down's second studio album, Toxicity, has turned 25, marking a quarter-century since the record cemented the Armenian-American band's status as one of nu metal's defining acts. To mark the anniversary, Metal Hammer has partnered with the band to release a limited amber-coloured vinyl edition of the album, packaged with a separate seven-inch single featuring Johnny, a rare bonus track previously only available on select international physical releases.

Toxicity was released on 4 September 2001, produced by Rick Rubin, and yielded hits including the Grammy-nominated Chop Suey!, Aerials and the title track, blending heavy riffs with Armenian folk influences and politically charged lyrics. It topped the US Billboard 200, has been certified seven-times Platinum in the US and twice Platinum in the UK, and has sold an estimated 15 million copies worldwide, while Chop Suey! passed two billion Spotify streams earlier this year.
