Ceremony – “Dark Summer”
California underground band Ceremony have shared "Dark Summer," the latest single from their forthcoming album Tell Me Your Dream, accompanied by a video. The release continues a run of previews from the record, following the earlier singles "Other Hells" and "Death Destruction Mayhem," and shows the band pulling toward the post-punk sound of their 2019 album In The Spirit World Now rather than the hardcore leanings of the prior two tracks.
The video was directed by Joshua Cannon, while the accompanying press photo was taken by DIY punk figure Martin Sorrondeguy, known for his work with Los Crudos and Limp Wrist. Frontman Ross Farrar described the song's title as a reference to guitar feedback, likening the disorientation of "dread" amid "brilliant sunshine" to malaise that is "both beautiful and terrifying." Tell Me Your Dream is due for release on 7th August via Relapse Records.
