Chaka Khan and Q Parker of 112 have been given honorary roles at the Living Legends Foundation's 35th anniversary awards dinner and gala, which takes place at Flourish by Legendary in Atlanta on 2 October. Khan will serve as Honorary Ambassador and Parker as Honorary Gala Chair, recognising figures who champion the often unseen contributors behind the Black music industry. The appointment is particularly meaningful for Khan, who was herself honoured by the foundation back in 1992, giving her involvement a full-circle quality.

The 2026 honouree slate is led by BET president Louis Carr, who will receive the Ray Harris Lifetime Achievement Award, alongside Alamo Records COO Juliette Jones, the Black Promoters Collective and Amazon Music's Phylicia Fant. Both Khan and Parker also have new music arriving around the same period: Khan's Chakzilla, her first full studio album in seven years, is out on 18 September featuring Sia, Snoop Dogg and Lenny Kravitz, while Parker's Evolution of Romance, Volume Two is due this autumn.
