Charley Crockett joined Evan Felker onstage at a packed Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa shortly after the death of Crockett’s brother, Joshua, and Dolly Parton. The performance became an intimate, emotionally charged occasion, with Crockett asking Felker to play particularly mournful songs because he needed to hear them, rather than focusing on his own recent musical disputes or success.

More than 1,700 fans watched the pair perform together for nearly two hours, alternating Crockett’s songs from Clovis and his 2025 “Sagebrush Trilogy” with Turnpike Troubadours favourites. Felker played “On the Red River”, which he called his saddest song, and closed with Tom Paxton’s “The Last Thing on My Mind” in tribute to Parton; venue co-owner Chad Rodgers described it as a special night reflecting both artists’ long connection to Cain’s Ballroom.
