Netflix has officially unveiled Charlie Brooker's new series "Blackmere" at its U.K. upfronts event in London, with actor Rory Kinnear confirmed to join the cast. The four-part crime comedy-thriller is set to arrive in early 2027 and represents Brooker's latest project following the success of "Black Mirror," offering audiences a blend of absurdist humour and dark genre storytelling.

The series stars Paddy Considine as Detective John Blackmere, alongside Georgina Campbell and Lena Headey, and follows the titular detective's journey from the Northern city of Bleakford to London to avenge his partner's death and apprehend a ritualistic serial killer. Brooker created and wrote the series with co-writers including Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier and Joel Morris, with director Al Campbell leading the production. The project was initially announced last year as "Untitled Charlie Brooker Project" before receiving its official title this week.
