The UK Government has announced an £88 million aid package for Palestinians, providing healthcare, clean water and protection to hundreds of thousands of people. Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband urged Israel to remove what he called “unacceptable restrictions” on Gaza, saying civilians must have unhindered access to aid.

The funding will support medical consultations, mental health services, rehabilitation for children injured by blasts, waste management, sanitation and hygiene. It forms part of £127 million allocated to Palestine from the UK’s 2026/27 Official Development Assistance budget, amid efforts to reset diplomatic relations with Israel after earlier disagreements over sanctions linked to West Bank settlements.
