Charlie Worsham is releasing his third solo album, Once Upon a Second Time Around, while beginning a new independent chapter after leaving Warner Records Nashville for ONErpm. The record reflects his broad career in country music—as a performer, songwriter and sought-after multi-instrumentalist—and his more expansive view of success after two decades in Nashville.

The 40-year-old Mississippi native has contributed guitar, mandolin, banjo and songwriting to artists including Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs and Dierks Bentley, while also touring with Bentley and Vince Gill. Due out on 7 August, the 12-track album follows 2013’s Rubberband, 2017’s The Beginning of Things and the 2023 EP Compadres; Worsham co-wrote about half its songs and says the guiding idea was that “the impossible takes longer”.
