‘Chicago P.D. Officially Brings Back Jesse Lee Soffer for Another Major Season 14 Exit

Collider ·

Jesse Lee Soffer is returning to *Chicago P.D.* in Season 14 to direct an episode, rather than reprise his role as Jay Halstead. The episode, “Don’t Blink”, is set to mark LaRoyce Hawkins’ departure as Kevin Atwater, giving Soffer a part in the send-off of a long-standing cast member.

It will be Soffer’s fourth time directing the series, after episodes in Seasons 10, 11 and 13. The article says Atwater’s exit follows the birth of his son with Tasha and is framed as a positive, natural next step for the character. Soffer’s return as an actor appears unlikely, as Halstead and Upton were left in a hopeful but unresolved position and Soffer has a lead role in a CBS series in development.

  • Jesse Lee Soffer returns to direct, not act.
  • Season 14’s “Don’t Blink” will be Atwater’s exit.
  • Soffer has directed three earlier episodes.
