Chiodos have released "TAPDAT", their first new single in 12 years, marking a significant return for the post-hardcore band ahead of a North American headline tour this summer. The song's arrival matters as a milestone comeback for a group long associated with the mid-2000s screamo scene, signalling renewed creative activity after over a decade without new material.

The four-minute track blends progressive metal, neo-classical metal, metalcore, alternative R&B, screamo and Autotune-driven post-hardcore, reflecting influences the band has absorbed during its hiatus. Vocalist Craig Owens said the song represents a "return to our ethos" and the first step in rebuilding the band's world, describing the current line-up as stronger and more focused. Chiodos' tour begins on 30 July in Denver and runs through to 29 August in Nashville, with additional festival dates at Louder Than Life and Aftershock later in the year.
