Chloe Fineman has spoken about her decision to leave "Saturday Night Live" after seven seasons, describing the move as bittersweet but well-timed given a new opportunity to join Netflix's "Myron Bolitar" as a series regular. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of her film "The Dink" on 20 July, Fineman said the chance to work with David E. Kelley arose just as her SNL contract ended, making it feel like "a perfect time" to move on despite her deep attachment to the show and its cast.

Fineman announced her SNL exit on Instagram, saying she had "decided it's time for my next chapter," and revealed filming on "Myron Bolitar" — an adaptation of Harlan Coben's thriller novels, co-run by Kelley and Kyle Long — begins this week. She described SNL as "a family" and recalled castmate Colin Jost calling her on her birthday amid an outpouring of support from colleagues. Fineman also has "The Dink," a pickleball comedy co-starring Jake Johnson and Ben Stiller, premiering on Apple TV+ on Friday.
