Chris Brown has pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court to affray, a public-order offence involving fighting, in connection with an alleged 2023 assault at a London private members’ club. The plea meant more serious assault, grievous bodily harm and weapons allegations were dropped, though the case remains significant because the alleged attack left music producer Amadou “Abe” Diaw requiring hospital treatment.

Prosecutors alleged Brown struck Diaw with a tequila bottle at Tape in Mayfair on 19 February 2023, after which Brown’s vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, allegedly joined the assault; Akinlolu also admitted affray. Brown was arrested in May 2025, later released on $6.75 million bail and permitted to tour in Europe; both men will be sentenced on 26 October, when affray can carry up to three years’ imprisonment.
