Chris Janson has a message for hunting critics as country stars face social media backlash
Country singer Chris Janson says he does not let social media criticism of hunting affect him, arguing that people in the public eye should expect negative comments. His response comes as several country stars have faced backlash over hunting photos, while he says he avoids much of the online commentary and focuses on family and outdoor life.
Janson said his wife and team manage much of his social media, and that he hunts for food as well as conservation. He said at least half of the animals he harvested this year went to help others; hunting fees and equipment taxes also support wildlife and habitat programmes in the United States. Since 2019, he has partnered with Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris on a conservation hat whose proceeds benefit three charities.
