Chvrches are a Scottish band made up of singer Lauren Mayberry and multi-instrumentalists Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. They became known for combining electronic sounds with pop songwriting, and their 2021 album Screen Violence was their most recent full-length release.
The group’s return comes after a gap of nearly six years between albums. The new record is described as emotional indie rock, while its first single addresses darker currents in British society. An album and tour give listeners a chance to hear how the band’s sound and themes have developed.
