Cineverse to Adapt Trevor Henderson’s Horror Podcast ‘Mayfair Watchers Society’ Into Movie (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety ·

Cineverse is developing a found-footage anthology film based on Trevor Henderson’s horror podcast “Mayfair Watchers Society”. Henderson, known for viral monsters such as Siren Head and Cartoon Cat, will produce and join the writing team, giving him a hands-on role as the podcast moves to the big screen.

Launched in 2022 through Cineverse’s Bloody FM network, the podcast presents accounts of residents encountering different creatures. The film is expected to include stories featuring seven named monsters, among them The Needle, Creekman and Owls with Teeth. The deal comes as other Henderson creations are also being adapted for film, including Siren Head and Cartoon Cat.

Cineverse is an entertainment company that makes and distributes films, while Bloody FM is its network for horror podcasts. Mayfair Watchers Society began there in 2022, telling fictional accounts of people in a town who encounter strange creatures.

The podcast draws on the work of Trevor Henderson, an artist known for monsters such as Siren Head and Cartoon Cat. He is involved in developing the film as a producer and writer, connecting the original stories and characters with their screen adaptation.

The project is part of a wider move to bring Henderson’s creatures to film. It also shows how horror stories first told through podcasts and online artwork can be developed for cinema.
