Cisco chief executive Chuck Robbins says Anthropic’s Mythos bug-finding model is prompting organisations to replace unsupported networking equipment more quickly, fearing newly discovered flaws will leave unpatched devices unsafe. He argues this “Mythos Effect” is helping drive a broader network-spending supercycle, alongside preparations for quantum threats and demand created by AI deployments.

Cisco said its sales pipeline has grown as customers refresh equipment, sometimes using security budgets rather than traditional networking funds, while its finance chief said it has no significant replacement-hardware delays. The company reported quarterly revenue of $17.3 billion, up 17 per cent year-on-year, and annual revenue of $63.3 billion, up 12 per cent; fourth-quarter net income rose 51 per cent to $3.9 billion. Robbins also said Cisco resolved 145,000 support cases entirely with AI during FY26 and that its internal assistant handled more than 75 million prompts in the fourth quarter.
