High-risk sex offender Ronald Love released to Spokane County
Ronald “Ronnie” D. Love, 69, has been released from Washington’s Special Commitment Center and is now living in Spokane County. His return has prompted concern because he has a long record of sexual offences against children and adults, and authorities classify him as a high-risk offender.
Love was convicted at 16 of raping a six-year-old boy, and later committed further offences in California and Washington, including attacks on two women in 1978 and an attempted rape in 1990. After a 10-year prison sentence for the latter case was nearing its end, the state sought his confinement at McNeil Island; he challenged that confinement in 2013. Officials have not said when or why he was released, or where in Spokane County he is staying.
