Claire Foy and Matthew Macfadyen have been confirmed to lead the BBC and Starz adaptation of David Nicholls’ bestselling novel You Are Here, with the author writing the eight-part series. The project brings together several prominent British drama names, including Normal People director Lenny Abrahamson and producer Element Pictures, and strengthens Starz’s recent investment in UK-made programmes.

Foy and Macfadyen will play Marnie and Michael, who embark on an unexpected relationship after a mutual friend brings them together for a coast-to-coast walk in northern England. Filming is planned in the Lake District and around Manchester, while Fremantle will handle international sales; both lead actors will also serve as executive producers alongside Nicholls, Abrahamson and BBC and Element representatives.
