Claud has announced their third album, Me and the Music, due on 23 October via Dead Oceans, alongside its first single, “She Doesn’t Love Me”. The release marks a shift from the more serious tone of 2023’s Supermodels towards optimism, relief and enjoyment, while still addressing Claud’s unease about life in America.

Produced by John Congleton, the 10-track album includes songs such as “Gay Witchcraft”, “Just Kidding” and the title track. “She Doesn’t Love Me” pairs upbeat instrumentation with lyrics about remaining in the US because of Claud’s connection to their community; its video includes appearances from Clairo, Samia and Annie DiRusso.

  • Claud’s third album arrives on 23 October.
  • “She Doesn’t Love Me” is the first single.
  • The album adopts a brighter, more optimistic tone.

Claud is an American singer-songwriter known for intimate indie-pop songs that often explore relationships, identity and growing up. They released their debut album, Super Monster, in 2021, followed by Supermodels in 2023.

Dead Oceans is an independent record label that works with a range of alternative and indie artists. John Congleton, who produced the new record, is a US producer and musician who has worked with many artists in this field.

Clairo, Samia and Annie DiRusso are fellow US singer-songwriters, and their appearances reflect Claud’s links to a wider indie music community. The new album’s title and song names suggest it will continue Claud’s personal style of writing while taking a brighter musical direction.
