Claude’s voice mode is now available for Opus and Sonnet

The Verge ·

Anthropic has expanded Claude’s voice mode beyond its faster Haiku model to include the more capable Sonnet and Opus models. The move matters because it enables users to handle more complex work through spoken conversations, with Claude able to provide deeper analysis and carry out tasks such as drafting a pitch or rearranging calendar appointments.

Voice mode, launched in 2025, was initially intended for quick, low-latency questions, but Anthropic says users began applying it to real business problems. Users can switch between voice and text, and between models, during a conversation; voice mode can also now access apps including Gmail, Slack and Canva, and is available in French, German, Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese.
