Cloudflare has launched Kitesurf, a cloud-hosted web browser designed for AI agents rather than human users. The move reflects the growing push to enable AI systems to carry out online tasks such as navigating websites and completing forms, while addressing agent-specific concerns including computing costs, scalability and prompt-injection risks.

Built in 12 weeks on Cloudflare’s Workers serverless platform, Kitesurf is free in beta through Browser Run, which provides programmable headless browser instances. Cloudflare says it uses less CPU and memory than Chromium for tasks such as screenshots and HTML extraction; it combines technologies including Blitz, Firefox’s Stylo CSS parser and Boa JS, and has passed more than 215,000 web-platform tests.
