Jordan Firstman's directorial debut "Club Kid" has won the top Grand Prix Award, alongside the City of Deauville Audience Award, at the Deauville American Film Festival, building on its earlier success as a breakout title at Cannes. The film, set for release by A24 later this year, was the standout winner at the 10-day event in the Normandy seaside town, which also drew a strong turnout of Hollywood and French stars and marked the second year of its industry section aimed at strengthening ties between the US and French film sectors.

Other prizes included jury awards for "If I Go Will They Miss" and animated feature "Tangles" (which also won the Critics' Prize), while "Mouse" took the Revelation Prize and "Test" won the Canal+ Prize. Stars attending included Brendan Fraser and Ethan Hawke, who both received Deauville Talent Awards, Faye Dunaway and Susan Sarandon, who collected Icon Awards, and Sophie Thatcher and Patrick Schwarzenegger, honoured as Rising Stars. Additional guests included Catherine Deneuve, Casey Affleck, Simon Pegg and Brooklyn Beckham, while industry panels covered French financing schemes, tax rebates and how local actors can break into the US market.
