Clueless Sequel Series Finally Gets off the Ground with Alicia Silverstone Returning as Cher
Paramount+ has greenlit a sequel series to *Clueless*, with Alicia Silverstone returning as Cher Horowitz and serving as an executive producer alongside original film writer-director Amy Heckerling. The project revives a long-delayed follow-up to the 1995 teen comedy and brings the franchise back after Peacock cancelled its planned version earlier in 2026.
Set around 30 years after the film, the series follows Cher as a successful business owner and mother of a teenage daughter, finding parenthood makes her feel “clueless” again. Production is due to begin in Los Angeles in 2027 through CBS Studios; Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Jordan Weiss and Robert Lawrence will write and executive produce. An earlier Dionne Davenport-centred series proposed in 2020 also failed to proceed.
