CMF announces its first pair of open-ear earbuds for under $100

Engadget · 2 hours ago

Nothing's budget sub-brand CMF has unveiled the Clip Pro, its first open-ear earbuds, priced at $99. Unlike traditional in-ear buds, they rest against the ear via a "3-point clip design" rather than sealing the ear canal, sacrificing noise cancellation for greater environmental awareness, which the company is pitching at commuters and active users.

Each bud weighs just 5.9 grams and houses a 10.8mm dual-magnet driver, paired with "Ultra Bass Technology" to compensate for bass lost through the open design. The earbuds are Hi-Res Certified, support LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs, and include four microphones for calls plus a feature to make voices less audible to bystanders. They offer 10 hours of playback (32.5 hours with the case), a rotating "Smart Dial" control on the case, low-latency gaming mode, dual Bluetooth connections and IP54 water resistance. The CMF Clip Pro launches on 15 August in Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral.
