Co-op climber Peak finally reaches the summit, with its last major update bringing two foreboding new biomes next week

Rock Paper Shotgun · 1 day ago

Peak, the co-operative climbing game by Aggro Crab and Landfall, will receive its final major update, Final Ascent, on 11 August. The update concludes just over a year of post-launch additions and matters because it will finish the game’s story while adding a tougher final challenge for players climbing together.

Final Ascent introduces two ominous biomes, Gloom and The Citadel, apparently comprising a purple wasteland and a medieval dungeon-like tower. Players will rescue the scout master introduced at launch, who has developed a disturbing connection to the island, while the new areas replace the existing Caldera and Kiln maps in the biome rotation.

  • Peak’s final major update arrives on 11 August.
  • Gloom and The Citadel add two darker final biomes.
  • The update concludes the game’s launch storyline.
