Japanese rock band coldrain have released ‘Poison’, a new single from their forthcoming album ‘OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE’, featuring guest vocals from Bert McCracken of The Used. The collaboration brings together two established voices in modern rock and emo, with coldrain presenting the track as an emotionally intense exploration of love, desire and addiction.

Vocalist Masato said the song concerns the difficulty of enjoying love without allowing it to become all-consuming, describing McCracken’s contribution as adding rawness and emotional weight. ‘OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE’ is due for release on 25 September through Century Media Records, following the previously shared track ‘EX-HUMANITY’.
