Colin O’Donoghue Teases Collaboration With a ‘Once Upon a Time’ Star and a Country Icon for a New Album [Exclusive]

Actor Colin O'Donoghue, best known as Captain Hook in ABC's *Once Upon a Time*, has revealed he is releasing a new album made with former co-star Karen David, who played Princess Jasmine on the show. The pair, both experienced singers before and during their acting careers, recorded 13 self-written songs together this year, with the album expected to arrive around November. The project marks a return to music for O'Donoghue, who previously performed in an Irish band, and highlights a lesser-known musical thread running through the fantasy drama's cast.

Speaking at Fan Expo Canada, O'Donoghue said he spent several weeks working on the record with David's husband, producer Carl Ryden, whose past credits include Calvin Harris, Kylie Minogue, Cher and Ricky Martin. He also confirmed that country star Brad Paisley contributed guitar to the album after reportedly approving of the material, adding that he hopes to take the record on tour if it is well received. David, who scored a top-10 European hit with her 2003 debut single "It's Me (You're Talking To)," brings her own established pop career to the collaboration.

  • Colin O'Donoghue and Karen David are releasing a joint album, expected November.
  • The former *Once Upon a Time* co-stars wrote 13 songs together.
  • Brad Paisley contributed guitar; a possible tour is hoped for.
