Colman Domingo used his guest-hosting monologue on *Jimmy Kimmel Live* to mock Elon Musk’s plan for an AI-generated, “historically accurate” adaptation of Homer’s *The Odyssey*. Domingo argued that calling the fictional epic historically accurate was inherently contradictory, and criticised what he portrayed as Musk’s reaction to the diverse casting in Christopher Nolan’s current film version.

Nolan’s *The Odyssey* has taken more than $300 million worldwide, while Musk has said X’s Grok Imagine tool will create a full-length version by the end of 2026 that is “true to the art of Homer”. Musk and other critics have objected to the ethnicity of some cast members; Nolan has described such concerns as irrelevant. Domingo’s comments included jokes about the debate and Musk’s stated ambitions for Mars.
