The carrier left San Diego in November for the South China Sea before being redirected to the Middle East ahead of February’s attacks on Iran, with no return date announced. Reports cite food shortages, water contamination, broken plumbing, worsening mental health, possible suicide attempts, deck-safety concerns and delayed or lost care packages; Senator Richard Blumenthal said basic supplies and ship services were affected.
