Confirmed: Influence Media Partners to acquire Anthem Entertainment catalogs for over USD $600M

Music Business Worldwide · 3 hours ago

Influence Media Partners has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Anthem Entertainment in a deal worth more than $600 million (USD), backed by funds managed by affiliates of BlackRock. The agreement covers Anthem's music publishing catalogues, film and TV publishing assets, and its portfolio of master recordings, marking the first successful sale of the assets after two earlier auctions, in 2017 and 2022, failed to find a buyer.

The catalogue includes more than 24,000 released songs and over 60,000 further unexploited works, featuring tracks such as Britney Spears' "Oops!… I Did It Again", Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack" and Rush's "Tom Sawyer", alongside film and TV music from franchises including Spider-Man and Men in Black. The deal, first reported by Billboard in June at around $650 million, will see Anthem's controlling shareholder, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, exit its investment, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 subject to standard closing conditions.
