The charges relate to a 43-second video allegedly filmed on 1 February 2024, when Tyler was 18 and involved a 17-year-old girl, described by authorities as child sexual abuse material. The girl reportedly told police the following day after her ex-boyfriend received a copy, and her mother said it had been posted to Instagram. Tyler is due in Garfield County District Court on 19 August and has not yet entered a plea. He was also charged with misdemeanour child abuse in February after allegedly leaving his two-year-old son unattended near a lake, his second such incident following a similar citation in July 2024. Boebert said she loves her son and takes the allegations "very seriously".
