Explained simply
Ghost Rider is a Marvel character whose best-known identity is Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist who makes a deal with a demon and becomes a supernatural figure with a flaming skull. The character is often called the Spirit of Vengeance and has appeared in Marvel comics and earlier film adaptations.
Ryan Gosling is set to play Blaze in the new film. Connor Storrie is an actor whose breakout role was in the television series Heated Rivalry; his character in Ghost Rider has not been disclosed. The film is being developed by Marvel Studios, with Shawn Levy directing and Jonathan Tropper writing.
Ghost Rider stories combine superhero action with supernatural themes and often feature demonic adversaries such as Mephisto. The film is part of Marvel’s wider screen franchise, which brings together characters and stories from its comics.
