Control Resonant Has Gone Gold, but the Physical Release Has Been Delayed

Polygon · 4 hours ago

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Control Resonant, the hack-and-slash sequel to 2019's Control, has gone gold, meaning development is essentially finished ahead of its 24 September release. However, the studio also revealed that the physical edition of the game will now arrive later than the digital version, disappointing fans hoping to own a boxed copy from day one.

Remedy announced the news on its official X account, stating that the physical release has been pushed back three weeks to 15 October, citing the need for "a little more time to deliver the physical version". Resonant sees players control Dylan Faden navigating a supernaturally warped Manhattan, shifting from the original's third-person shooting to hack-and-slash melee combat within a semi-open world. The game is expected to be significantly longer than its predecessor, with Remedy estimating around 30 hours to complete compared with Control's roughly 12-hour campaign. Control Resonant launches on 24 September for PS5, Xbox Series X and Windows PC.
