Control Resonant’s story will take around 30 hours, Remedy says, with completionists looking at 50-hour runs

Remedy has revealed how long Control Resonant will take to complete, alongside new details on the game's combat design. Speaking to TechRadar, lead gameplay designer Sergey Mohov said the main story will take around 30 hours, with players aiming for full completion looking at roughly 50 hours, giving fans a clearer sense of the scope of Remedy's sequel to Control.

Mohov said the original Control remains the team's key reference point, alongside influences such as Devil May Cry 2 and 3 and PlatinumGames titles, as the studio aimed to keep the sequel "spiritually and experientially similar" to the first game while introducing a more melee-focused, aggressive combat style. This matches earlier hands-on impressions describing dashes, double-jumps and lengthy aerial combos. Control Resonant launches on 24th September for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
