The animated-live-action hybrid "Coyote vs. Acme" had its first public screening at San Diego Comic-Con, marking a major victory for fans who mounted a years-long campaign to rescue the film from the scrap heap. Warner Bros. Discovery had shelved the project in November 2023 as a tax write-off, but the sustained fan outcry ultimately led to the director and star Lana Condor being able to present the film to audiences.

Alongside the screening, director Dave Green confirmed to media outlets that the film will receive a physical Blu-ray release that restores content deemed too risqué for theatrical distribution. The release will feature uncensored outtakes from actor John Cena, whose unscripted and improvised moments with fellow cast member Will Forte and the Looney Tunes characters were cut from the original version due to their adult-oriented nature.
