Craig Morgan Recalls His Final Conversation With Toby Keith and Reveals the Major Plans They Never Got to Fulfill

Craig Morgan has recalled his final conversation with Toby Keith, describing how they spoke about military service while sitting on Keith’s tour bus after a show. Morgan’s account offers a personal glimpse of their friendship and the shared support for the armed forces that also shaped plans for a joint tour.

Morgan said he had been considering returning to the military, and Keith teased him about whether he could keep up with younger service members. The pair were excited about touring together, but Keith died aged 62 in February 2024 after a cancer battle, before those plans could happen. Morgan is preparing to release *My Country*, his first album in more than six years.
