Polygon · 2 hours ago

Pearl Abyss has confirmed that the first DLC for Crimson Desert is targeted for release before the end of 2026, offering the clearest timeline yet for fans awaiting new content for the action RPG. The confirmation came in the developer and publisher's second-quarter 2026 earnings letter, which frames DLC as a central part of its plans to grow the game following its mixed reception at launch but strong subsequent performance.

No details on gameplay content or pricing were disclosed, though Pearl Abyss says more information will follow in the third quarter, with future expansions depending on how the first DLC is received. The letter also revealed that a Nintendo Switch 2 version has reached a "playable baseline" and is being targeted for release in the first half of 2027, while ruling out a mobile release on graphical quality grounds. Pearl Abyss additionally noted it is researching the feasibility of adding co-op or multiplayer features, and reiterated that it views Crimson Desert as the start of a wider franchise.
