Publisher Pearl Abyss has announced a delay for Crimson Desert's major expansion pack, "Charting the Unknown," pushing its release back by two weeks. The DLC was originally scheduled for 15th October but will now launch on 29th October. The developer stated that additional development time is needed to ensure a more polished and stable gameplay experience, with the team working hard to refine the content before launch.

The expansion promises substantial new content including castle building and decoration, naval battles, sea exploration, and an entirely new story and setting for players to discover. Whilst the two-week postponement is relatively minor in gaming terms, it reflects Pearl Abyss's commitment to delivering quality gameplay rather than rushing the release. Given the breadth of features being added, the extra development time appears justified to ensure the experience meets player expectations.
