ProbablyMonsters has revealed the musicians behind the heavy metal soundtrack for its gothic action RPG Crimson Moon, alongside confirming the game's price ahead of its 1 September launch on PS5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Led by composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo, the score was created in collaboration with the band Health, guitarist and YouTuber Jared Dines, Periphery's Misha Mansoor, and Ice Nine Kills' Ricky Armellino, tying the game's soundtrack directly to its heavy metal aesthetic.

Crimson Moon casts players as a Nephilim fighting through the fallen city of Gildenarch against demons, undead and vampires using melee combat and supernatural abilities, drawing visual comparisons to Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Unlike those sprawling RPGs, it is built as a focused adventure completable in a handful of sessions, structured around replayable district missions interspersed with visits to the base Sanctus Clypeus to upgrade gear and meet characters including a vampire blacksmith. The standard edition will cost $19.99, with a $29.99 Deluxe Edition adding the Ceremonial Armor Set and Axe of the Gods cosmetics.

Crimson Moon is an upcoming video game from developer ProbablyMonsters, set in a gothic fantasy world where players fight through a fallen city against demons, undead and vampires. Its combat and dark visual style have drawn comparisons to the Dark Souls and Elden Ring series, though it is designed to be a shorter, more focused experience rather than a sprawling open-world epic.

A notable feature of the game is its heavy metal soundtrack, put together by composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo with contributions from musicians including the band Health, guitarist Jared Dines, Periphery's Misha Mansoor and Ice Nine Kills' Ricky Armellino. This musical pedigree is being used to reinforce the game's dark, aggressive tone and has become a talking point ahead of release.

The game is due to launch on PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, with a standard and a more expensive Deluxe Edition offering extra in-game cosmetic items.
