Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion Scores A Surprise Switch 2 Release

Nintendo Life · 5 hours ago

Square Enix has released Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion on Nintendo Switch 2, a surprise reveal made during the latest Nintendo Direct alongside continued promotion of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The remaster is available immediately on the eShop, but Square Enix has not provided an upgrade path for players who already own the original Switch version, a decision that has drawn criticism from fans given the Switch release's technical shortcomings.

The Switch 2 version is launching at a discounted price of $34.99, down from its usual $49.99, and includes a full HD graphics overhaul, updated action combat, fully voiced English and Japanese dialogue, and a newly arranged soundtrack by composer Takeharu Ishimoto. Crisis Core Reunion originally launched on the base Switch in December 2022. Separately, digital pre-orders have gone live for Final Fantasy VII Revelation on Switch 2, with 24-hour early access reserved exclusively for those who pre-order the Premium or Premium Plus editions.

  • Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is now on Switch 2, discounted at launch.
  • No free or discounted upgrade offered for existing Switch owners.
  • Final Fantasy VII Revelation digital pre-orders also now open on Switch 2.
