Crunchyroll will discontinue its Nintendo Switch app on 30 October 2026, ending access to the anime streaming service through the console. The move affects users who watch in docked or handheld mode, although Crunchyroll says its website and other supported devices will remain available; no reason for the withdrawal was given.

The Switch app launched in 2022 and included offline viewing for paid subscribers. Crunchyroll, founded in 2006, says it has more than 15 million subscribers and offers over 2,000 anime titles, though availability varies by country because of licensing agreements.
