Jonathan Tison plays the grown Jason Voorhees in the Season 1 finale of Peacock’s *Crystal Lake*, revealed as the burlap sack-wearing figure familiar from *Friday the 13th Part 2*. His appearance has sparked an enthusiastic response from fans, with Tison saying the return of “Sackhead Jason” brings a sense of nostalgia.

Tison, 26, said he did not know he had landed the role until he arrived at the effects studio: the series was filmed under the codename *Mama’s Boy*, and he thought he was playing a character called Joey. After learning the truth, he watched the films through *Friday the 13th Part VI* to prepare. His prosthetics covered parts of his mouth and eye and impaired his hearing and sight on one side; he also praised co-stars Linda Cardellini, Hamish Linklater and young Jason actor Callum Vinson.
