Respawn Entertainment and CD Projekt Red have announced an Apex Legends x Cyberpunk crossover event, bringing characters and cosmetics from Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners into the battle royale game. Following earlier tie-ins with Final Fantasy 7 and Gundam, the collaboration marks another high-profile crossover for Apex Legends and reflects the growing trend of hero shooters partnering with major entertainment franchises to draw in players.

The event goes beyond cosmetics: the E-District map is receiving a Night City-themed makeover, and the fast-paced Wildcard mode is gaining two Cyberpunk-inspired Cyberware powers, Sandevistan and Blackwall Breach. Eight Legends are getting skins based on Cyberpunk characters, including Axle as Lucy and Ash as Lizzy Wizzy, alongside numerous weapon skins and a Mythic Alternator based on the Skippy variant of the Arasaka Yukimura pistol. The developers say pairings were chosen to match both the aesthetics and personalities of the characters involved. Separately, a new season of Netflix's Edgerunners animated series is also on the way.
