The Sheffield Grand Prix cycling event is returning to the city centre for its 12th consecutive year on Wednesday, bringing elite riders and community racers to a closed-road circuit in the heart of Sheffield. The event, organised with support from Sheffield City Council and British Cycling, forms part of British Cycling's National Circuit Series, meaning competitive points are at stake for both teams and individual riders.

Competitors will include national champion Matt Bostock, Olympic silver medallist Ollie Wood and paralympic gold medallist Jenny Holl MBE, racing around a 1.4km circuit that runs from the Crucible Theatre, up Norfolk Street and over cobbles along Surrey Street to finish at the Town Hall. The day begins with a 17:00 BST community ride for pre-booked families and casual cyclists, followed by youth races, a regional circuit race with 80 riders, and then the elite women's and men's events. Several city centre streets, including Arundel Gate, Norfolk Street and Surrey Street, will be closed between 15:30 and 23:30, with brief access windows arranged for nearby car parks and hotels.
