Cyndi Lauper, Tones And I & CYRIL Team Up for ‘Time After Time’ Remix: Exclusive
Cyndi Lauper has approved a dance remix of “Time After Time” made with Australian producer CYRIL and singer Tones And I. Released on 23 October through Spinnin’ Records, it keeps Lauper’s original vocals and opening guitar strums while adding electronic production and Tones And I on the chorus, bringing the 1980s ballad to a new audience.
The collaboration grew from a friendship between Lauper and Tones And I, who first met at one of Lauper’s shows and sang the song together on stage in 2025. Tones And I said the track was part of her childhood, while Lauper described writing it as personally meaningful. The original reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks; Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey” topped charts in more than 30 countries, and CYRIL had a breakout year in 2024.
