Explained simply

Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. They became known for dance music and for performing in robot helmets, with elaborate stage shows.

The Pyramid was the centrepiece of their 2007 Alive tour, where it served as a stage for the duo’s live performances. A fan-designed model of it won a Lego music-themed competition in 2020, helping bring the idea to the toy maker’s attention.

Daft Punk split up in 2021, and Bangalter has ruled out a reunion. The project connects the duo’s musical legacy with Lego’s fan design community.
