Dahi Releases “How to Pray” Featuring Kendrick Lamar and Amber Mark: Stream
Dahi has released “How to Pray”, a new single featuring Kendrick Lamar and Amber Mark, alongside his debut solo album, Black Boy (Alternative). Its video is designed to be watched across two phones placed side by side, with each screen showing a separate perspective that completes the narrative; the approach aims to make viewing more collaborative and emphasise human connection.
The track continues Dahi’s long-running partnership with Lamar, following production work on songs including “Money Trees” and material from DAMN. and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Black Boy (Alternative) contains 11 tracks and features contributors including Childish Gambino, Vince Staples, Moses Sumney, Fousheé and Ravyn Lenae, blending hip-hop and R&B with alternative and rock influences while exploring Black identity.

Dahi is an American producer and songwriter who has worked across hip-hop, R&B and pop. He is known for collaborations with artists including Kendrick Lamar, and for helping shape the sound of several of Lamar’s major releases.
Kendrick Lamar is a rapper from California whose music has brought him wide critical and commercial success, while Amber Mark is a singer and songwriter whose work draws on R&B, soul and pop. Their appearance places the song within a wider network of musicians Dahi has worked with over many years.
The single comes from Dahi’s first album released under his own name, after a career largely spent making music for other performers. The album brings together artists from different parts of contemporary Black music and uses several styles, including hip-hop, R&B and rock.
