Mail titles win London Press Club award after court victory against Prince Harry

Daily Mail ·

The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday won the London Press Club’s Press Media Title of the Year award. Judges praised the papers’ scoops and investigations, and said their court victory against Prince Harry and six other claimants was a reason for special recognition, describing the result as a victory for journalism and a free press.

The judges said the claimants had failed to prove any of the 97 allegations of unlawful information gathering, and were ordered to pay legal costs. Arthur Parashar won Young Journalist of the Year for reporting on the death of Josh Rogers in Spain and a London property empire linked to the uncle of former Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. Jordana Seal and crime editor Rebecca Camber were highly commended in their categories.
