Hyperpop artist daine has publicly criticised electronic duo Bassvictim after member Ike Clateman claimed in a livestream that daine's team had repeatedly and desperately pursued them for a remix, offering escalating payment. The comments, made about their recent remix of daine's track "PQC" from the forthcoming debut album In Endless Awe & Agony, were clipped and shared on TikTok, prompting daine to publicly reject the characterisation as "poor taste and weird af".

Clateman said he made the remix in around 20-30 minutes while in Vietnam, without initially listening to the song, after his management relayed rising offers from daine's side. daine responded in the comments, insisting they were not desperate and had not overpaid, saying their team simply asked if Bassvictim would be interested given existing ties between the two camps. The clip's TikTok caption further stoked the dispute by questioning whether daine was a "nepo" artist, fuelling wider chatter in the hyperpop scene.
