Daisy Ridley To Lead ‘Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea’ TV Series In Works At Paramount+ From Akiva Goldsman, Matt Shakman & Legendary TV

Daisy Ridley will lead and executive produce a reimagining of *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea*, which Legendary Television is developing for Paramount+. The project brings together writer Akiva Goldsman and director Matt Shakman, who will also executive produce; a writers’ room is under way.

Ridley plays ocean scientist Lee Crane, drawn into a secret government programme after an Arctic expedition kills her twin sister. She takes command of the USS Seaview, a submarine found entombed in ice that powers up when she boards, and leads missions against mysterious forces while investigating Atlantis and hidden history. The series is based on Irwin Allen’s 1961 film and subsequent ABC television series.
