Daisy Ridley to Star in New Take on ‘Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea’ at Paramount+

Daisy Ridley will star in and executive produce an eight-episode reimagining of “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” for Paramount+. The series revives the story for television, with Ridley leading a new undersea adventure centred on a mysterious submarine and hidden history.

Ridley plays Lee Crane, whose twin sister dies on an Arctic expedition, drawing her into a classified government programme. Crane takes command of the USS Seaview, a retro-futuristic submarine found trapped in ice, and leads missions against mysterious forces while investigating Atlantis and an erased chapter of human history. Akiva Goldsman will write, Matt Shakman will direct, and Legendary Television and the Irwin Allen estate will produce; the project has been in development for months.
